Welcome...
The Long Beach Sailing Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit built on passion, purpose, and a belief that sailing should be for everyone. At the heart of our mission is the Catalina 37 fleet – identical racing yachts that double as platforms for competition and education. Throughout the year, you will see the boats used in the Congressional Cup and a host of other regattas. You will also see them used in our programs designed to support STEM education, sailor development, and community outreach. These initiatives are made possible through the support of our dedicated donors and our partnerships with Long Beach Yacht Club, the US Sailing Center, and many members of our local sailing community. Our donors also enable the Sailing Foundation to extend grants to deserving organizations and individuals, promoting sailing, athlete development, and amateur competition.
About Us
The Long Beach Sailing Foundation was formed in 1991 to own, manage and maintain the Catalina 37 fleet, donated by Frank Butler, the president of Catalina Yachts. The Sailing Foundation supports the boats to an identical standard in all performance-related areas: weight, equipment, rig tuning, and sails. This is possible through the tremendous efforts of dedicated board member volunteers, contractors, and supporters like Catalina Yachts and Samson Rope Technologies, who are all key to helping us fulfill our mission.
Donate
If you want to ensure that the sport of sailing thrives and is accessible to all those in our community who are open to the experience of sailing and all the relationship and educational opportunities it provides. Please donate to the Long Beach Sailing Foundation.
