GRANT FUNDS
The Sailing Foundation is the steward of three funds that are focused on providing grants to deserving individuals and organizations to promote sailing, racing competition and maritime education. These funds are entirely donor-supported. Most grant applications are submitted for a particular event or series of events. The primary purpose of our grants is to help fund individual travel expenses related to out-of-town regattas or competitions. In some individual cases, we may fund programs, coaching, or other developmental support.

THE PROCESS
The Sailing Foundation Grants Committee meets in January, April, July and October to consider grant applications that have been received during the preceding three months. To be considered at a meeting, a grant application must be received in our application website on or before the last day of the calendar quarter proceeding the meeting. Grant application that are submitted late or submitted for events that occurred in past quarters, will not be considered.
The Grants Committee will consider each application at its quarterly meetings. If a grant is approved, the grant administrator will reply with a grant agreement and a check for the amount of the grant. Each grant recipient must agree to us the funds only for the purposes described in the application, return any funds not expended, to submit receipts and documentation supporting budgeted expenditures, and submit a brief report at the beginning and the conclusion of the project, including photos if available. The Sailing Foundation may feature grantees on its website including updates as provided by the grantee or requested by the Sailing Foundation.
