SAILING FOR ALL
At the heart of the Long Beach Sailing Foundation (LBSF) lies a powerful mission: to make the world of sailing more inclusive, inspiring, and impactful. Through education, outreach, and competition, LBSF opens the door for youth, women, underserved communities, and amateur athletes to experience all that sailing has to offer. At the heart of our mission is the Catalina 37 fleet – identical racing yachts that double as platforms for competition and education.
Maintaining the Catalina 37 fleet after over 30 years of service is no small task, which is why LBSF has launched Catalina 37 2.0 – a five-year capital campaign to both restore and upgrade these iconic boats, but also to expand youth and STEM programs, scholarship funding, amateur athlete support, and keep the fleet race-ready for years to come.
This campaign will:
-
Preserve and modernize the Catalina 37 fleet-the benchmark of world-class, big-boat match racing and the workhorse for access to sailing in Southern CA.
-
Expand outreach programs that open sailing to youth, women, and underserved communities.
-
Grow sailor-support grants to empower the next generation of sailors to excel on the regional, national, and international stage.
Your support, whether a donation, sponsorship, or simply sharing our story, helps to ensure the Catalina 37s continue to inspire and empower the next generation.
